Ministries

At Abundant Life Church, we are workers!  We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission given to us by our Lord, Jesus Christ to "Go into all the world..."  We seek to impact our community, the Washington, DC metro area, and the world through a wide variety of ministries and services. 

Intercessors Ministry

Believing that the effectual, fervent prayers of the righteous do avail much, the Intercessors Ministry bombards heaven with the cares and concerns of others.  This ministry undergirds the pastor, ministry leaders, and the entire church family with a strong foundation of prayer.  These persons have demonstrated lives given to spending time in the face of the Lord and are trusted to assist the pastor in praying for the people of God.

Liturgical Arts Ministry

The Liturgical Arts Ministry, a division of our Music and Arts Department, is charged with expanding the church's artistic ministries beyond the traditional boundaries.  This ministry provides opportunities to those with unique gifts to creatively express their love for the Lord.  This may include, but is not limited to, liturgical dance, rap, poetry, drama, spoken word, or mime.
 

Music Ministry

Through the use of hymns, congregational songs, and other uplifting melodies, the Music Ministry sets the tone for the service and promotes an atmosphere of praise and worship.  Once the people are ushered into the presence of God through song, the hearts and minds of those in attendance are prepared to hear a Word from the Lord.
 

Outreach Ministry

The Outreach Ministry of Abundant Life Church seeks to impact the lives of men, women, and children throughout our community by offering them a "hand up".  Among the many labors of love performed by this ministry are food programs, clothing drives, school supply give aways, and Christmas toy drives.  The Outreach Ministry takes the message of Christ, by showing His love, directly to the people.
 

Pulpit Attendant Ministry

The Pulpit Attendant Ministry is responsible for aiding the pastor and his guests.  They are charged with the maintenance of the pulpit area including, but not limited to, making sure all items are stocked, placement of floral arrangements for the sanctuary, and attending to the preachers' needs during worship.
 

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry is committed to "train up a child in the way he should go".  This ministry's purpose is to nurture, develop, and edify young Christians through love, teaching, evangelism, and fellowship.
 
The Youth Ministry involves our young people in the total work of the church.  With the support of parents, children are taught, trained, and encouraged to work as they grow to spiritual maturity.  Specifically, youth leaders aid in their spiritual growth by developing and enhancing leadership skills, generating interest in the mission of the church, and allowing creative ministry expression.  This ministry also gives practical guidance in witnessing, Bible study, prayer life, and discipline in stewardship.
